Title:  Logistics Coordinator

Responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Administration of plant requests from customers, plant movements, vehicle, equipment & plant scheduling in Maximo, raise work & purchase orders, conduct inspections and reconciliations of plant & equipment availability.
  • Manage the logistics of all plant and equipment including the processing of customer requests and the delivery to and from customer sites.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Kooragang facility is effectively maintained and all safety, quality and environmental controls are implemented.
  • Assist with coordinating general depot operations including decommissioning of assets and disposal arrangements. 
  • Responsible for the collection & entry of plant equipment log sheets & meter readings.
  • Work with Plant Superintendent and Mechanical Supervisor to ensure materials, plant & equipment are available & work is completed on time. 
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in setting workshop priorities and allocating resource requirements against plant requests & open work orders.
  • Ensure asset locations and projected hire end dates are kept up to date within the Maximo Asset Management system.
  • Carry out on/off hire inspections, complete reports and notify projects as required.
  • Organise cost effective transport solutions for movement of assets.
  • Ensure all plant requests are addressed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Enter on and off hire of assets within the Maximo system.
  • Create work orders and purchase orders within the Maximo Asset Management System as required. 
  • Comply with all relevant budget targets in the procurement of goods and services
  • Utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of own work and resource time management.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with our policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.

To be successful in this key role we are looking for:

  • Higher school certificate and/or trade certificate preferably in the mechanical field.
  • 3 years’ experience in a logistics / construction / plant hire or similar commercial environment.
  • Experience with Asset and/or inventory Management systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant administrative practices. 
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Exposure to Financial budgets, Asset Management systems and Plant & Equipment Fleet maintenance
  • Exposure to asset management in the Infrastructure, Transportation or Construction industry.
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain and/or asset management 
  • Financial management exposure including the ability to control costs, measure savings and meet budgets
  • Awareness of Safety, Quality and Environment Management Systems and their application to operational requirements associated with Plant and Equipment.
  • Awareness of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and the applicable legislation.
