About the Role
We’re keen to hear from experienced Bid Managers or someone with a strong project delivery background, ready to take the next step in their career.
Based in our Melbourne CBD office, you will have the chance to work on iconic major infrastructure projects across Ports, Marines, Airports, Water and Wastewater.
Key Responsibilities
As a Bid Manager working within the infrastructure team, you’ll be responsible for converting prospects to projects by leading a bid team in the submission of tenders.
This will see you involved in the formulation of win strategies, leadership of highly talented bid teams, coordinating multidisciplinary project functions, and navigating executive reviews and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Strategy: assist with the formulation of win strategies that set the strategic direction of the bid to maximise the likelihood of winning.
- Partnerships: assist with identifying and securing partnerships required for bids such as technical specialists, delivery partners or subcontractors.
- Bid planning: developing resource plans, bid programs and budgets in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Bid leadership and coordination: guide the workflow during the tender and drive the bid team to achieve exceptional outcomes.
- Monitoring and reporting: monitor and report bid progress including quality of submission, issues for resolution, program, and budget.
- Commercial and financial: ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management.
- Client relationship management: support with developing and actively managing client and industry partner relationships, constructively engage clients during tenders.
- Governance: present to executive audiences to secure approvals to submit bids and ensure tenders are developed in compliance with corporate requirements.
- People management: provide direction, manage workloads, develop capability and foster a high-performance tender team within a positive environment.
To be successful in this key role:
- Experience in construction, project management, engineering, tendering or operations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with varying audiences.
- Able to manage a team under time and budget constraints.
- Strategic, forward thinking and organised whilst being comfortable with change and quick to adjust.
- Ability to navigate complex problem solving through analysis, engaging experts, and developing informed recommendations.
- Strong relationship building and able to constructively engage with clients.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Sciences, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent.
