Role Overview:

The Technical Advisor—Business Development / Relationships / Grants officer provides expert guidance, strategic insights, and technical support to enhance business growth, stakeholder engagement, and funding opportunities for Multicultural Consulting Services (MCS) and Western Care Services (WCS). This role focuses on developing sustainable partnerships, securing funding, ensuring compliance, and optimising business development strategies to expand services and maximise impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Growth

· Identify new markets, business opportunities, and partnerships in commercial and social enterprise sectors.

· Promote MCS and Wester Care Services to secure business contracts through networking and stakeholder engagement.

· Conduct market research to analyse industry trends and provide strategic recommendations.

· Provide advice on start-ups, mergers, acquisitions, and legislative compliance.

· Sourcing funding: Research and Assess MCS eligibility for funding, grants and make recommendations where it is applicable and submit

2. Grants & Funding Acquisition

· Research and assess MCS and WCS eligibility for funding and grants; recommend and submit applications.

· Structure and assist businesses with grant applications, tenders, and accreditation.

· Develop business case models and funding strategies, including blended finance approaches.

· Oversee grant reporting, acquittals, and compliance with funding requirements.

3. Compliance & Risk Management

· Ensure MCS and WCS comply with legal, contractual, and operational obligations.

· Review and update policies, risk management frameworks, OH&S standards, and business plans in consultation with the Managing Director.

· Monitor staff and contractor compliance to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.

· Provide monthly reports on compliance, operational performance, and strategic recommendations.

4. Stakeholder & Relationship Management

· Develop and maintain solid relationships with stakeholders, partners, and customers.

· Engage with external authorities, investors, and collaborators to drive business opportunities.

· Analyses customer feedback to improve services and address business challenges.

· Engage external stakeholders and develop business relationship opportunities for collaborative benefits.

5. Operational & Service Delivery Management

· Oversee Western Care Services (WC) suite of services, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.

· Provide professional support to MCS in NDIS, Grants, Employment, Training, and Entrepreneurship.

· Structure and assist businesses engaged by MCS in the commercial and social enterprise sectors.

· Assist social enterprises with government grant applications, tenders, accreditation, and project management.

· Identify growth opportunities in systems, infrastructure, and new markets.

6. Technical Advisory & Capacity Building

· Support MCS in NDIS, employment, training, and entrepreneurship programs with technical expertise.

· Guide teams on best practices for proposal writing, project structuring, and financial sustainability.

· Conduct training sessions, workshops, and mentoring programs for staff and community partners.

· Provide ongoing strategic and operational insights to enhance program impact.

6. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

· Provide – professional advice in start-ups, quality improvement, risk management

· Provide monthly reports on business success, outcomes, and recommendations.

· Offer regular insights and strategic opinions on MCS business strategies.

· Analyses market trends and financial data to recommend cost-effective strategies.

· Assess the feasibility of project budgets and align with strategic goals.

Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in business management, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience & Skills:

· Proven experience in business development, grant writing, and stakeholder engagement.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grant management software.

· Ability to work remotely and travel as needed.

· Knowledge of funding sources, blended finance models, and regulatory compliance.

· Strong communication, decision-making, and business acumen.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines for grant writing projects.

· Advanced research and computer skills.

Performance Goals:

· Successfully secured grants and funding to support MCS initiatives.

· Expand business partnerships and revenue opportunities.

· Ensure compliance with policies, contracts, and operational requirements.

· Support MCS and WCS in achieving business growth and strategic objectives.

· Deliver business development support and actively participate in operational planning.
