Position Overview
The Innovative Community Participation Support Worker is responsible for providing creative and flexible support to NDIS participants, helping them engage with mainstream activities and build their skills. This role involves facilitating unique and innovative programs that foster social inclusion, personal development, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement innovative programs to promote social and community participation.
· Support participants in accessing mainstream activities, such as art, music, sports, volunteering, and other community programs.
· Assist participants in building confidence, communication, and social skills.
· Encourage and empower participants to pursue personal interests and hobbies.
· Provide one-on-one or group support tailored to individual participant goals.
· Work collaboratively with community organizations and mainstream services to create inclusive opportunities.
· Maintain accurate records of participant progress and activities.
· Ensure compliance with NDIS guidelines and organizational policies.
· Communicate effectively with participants, caregivers, and other support team members.
Skills & Qualifications
· Experience in community engagement, disability support, or a related field.
· Ability to develop and facilitate innovative social and recreational activities.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Creativity and adaptability in engaging participants in meaningful experiences.
· Understanding of NDIS policies and participant rights (desirable).
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required).
· Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (if applicable).
Physical Requirements
· Ability to participate in various community activities, which may include walking, standing, or engaging in physical recreation.
· Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, depending on participant activities.
