Title:  Youth Mentor

Job Description:
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Youth Mentor to guide and support young individuals in achieving their personal, educational, and professional goals. As a Youth Mentor, you will build trusting relationships with mentees, foster their development, and empower them to overcome challenges. This role requires excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to inspire and motivate young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build positive and trusting relationships with youth to understand their goals, strengths, and challenges.
• Provide guidance, advice, and encouragement to help mentees reach their full potential.
• Develop and implement personalized action plans for mentees based on their individual needs.
• Organize and lead workshops, activities, and events that promote skill-building and personal growth.
• Act as a role model, demonstrating positive behavior and decision-making.
• Collaborate with schools, families, and community organizations to support youth development.
• Monitor mentees’ progress and provide regular feedback and support.
• Address barriers to success, such as social, emotional, or educational challenges.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on mentee progress and outcomes.
• Stay informed about resources, programs, and opportunities available for youth in the community.

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them succeed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
• Prior experience in mentoring, youth work, education, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of youth development principles and challenges facing young people.
• A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
